Kate Cheung is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong, working across video, moving image, installation, and writing. Her practice centres on slowness, presence, and the sensibility of time, and can be read through the lens of slow art and mindful seeing. Her practice approaches time as a contemplative medium, encouraging viewers to re-engage with life itself through sustained attention and presence. Attending to overlooked details, environments, and traces of life, she develops a peaceful visual language that invites reflection on time, space, and the natural world.

Grounded in the belief that each material carries its own register, her practice attends to the material’s mode of expression and the subtle transformations of everyday landscapes over time. It opens up a space concerned with attentive viewing and embodied reflection. Her works may appear fragmented, unstable, and vulnerable, yet they are also coherent, free, and resilient — like a quiet tide.

Her works have also been shown internationally, with exhibitions and collaborations in Ireland, Italy, Taipei, Thailand and Japan. Besides, she is also one of the co-founder of maison meander.
